Now is the time for us to get Bexhill’s iconic clock running again

The West Station clock helped travellers get to their trains on time for sixty-two years. Standing proudly in its tower, the four clock faces have overlooked Bexhill since 1902 when the line to Crowhurst first opened and the imposing West Station welcomed its first passengers.

A team from Bexhill Heritage has started to restore the clock and its four faces. It’s a big job after fifty years of neglect but we’re aiming to restart the clock at 3pm on Sussex Day, 16th June 2018 and to celebrate in grand style with a party at the West Station.

How you can help

– Join Bexhill Heritage, Bexhill’s new heritage charity, for an annual membership of £10.
– Become a patron of the West Station clock.
 
Gold – Give us a dial (4 total)

By supporting each of the four clock faces for £100, our gold patrons enjoy:

  • Collection by classic car from the De La Warr Pavilion for a journey in style to Bexhill West Station on Sussex Day, June 16th.
  • Complimentary refreshments on our ‘top table’ for you and a guest at our ‘restart party’.
  • Complimentary membership of Bexhill Heritage for one year.
  • A chance to wind the clock and view the tower for you or a fit friend or relative.
  • Your name, or that of a loved one, on our commemorative poster to have pride of place in the West Station.
  • A personal, limited-edition and numbered certificate (1 to 4) to recognise your kind donation.


 

Silver – Give us a hand (8 total)

Why not sponsor one of the eight hands around the clock face at £25 per hand? This will help raise an additional £200 to get West Station Clock ticking again. Silver patrons enjoy:

  • An invitation to share the ‘top table’ for you and a guest at our ‘restart party’ on Sussex Day, June 16th.
  • Complimentary membership of Bexhill Heritage for one year.
  • Your name, or that of a loved one, on our commemorative poster to have pride of place in the West Station.
  • A personal, limited edition and numbered certificate (1 to 8) to recognise your kind donation.


 
Bronze – Give us a minute (60 total)

Sponsorship for each of the sixty minutes around the clock face at just £12 per minute will help raise over £700 towards our restoration. Bronze patrons get:

  • A priority invitation for you and a guest to our ‘restart party’ on Sussex Day, June 16th.
  • Your name, or that of a loved one, on our commemorative poster to have pride of place in the West Station.
  • A personal, limited-edition and numbered certificate (1 to 60) to recognise your kind donation.
